Linda Nolan to throw ‘final party’

Linda Nolan is planning to throw a "final party" once she’s offered chemotherapy.
The 59-year-old singer and actress was diagnosed with incurable secondary breast cancer after doctors found a cyst on her pelvis last year, but she has admitted she won’t be accepting any treatment because she hated seeing her sister Bernie – who died of breast cancer in 2013 – go through it and would rather just have a celebration.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror newspaper, she said: "If the cancer spreads and they offer me chemotherapy to give me an extra few months, I would turn it down after what Bernie went through. The last couple of months of her life were really difficult. She was in terrible pain. I want to enjoy the last months of my life to the full.
"As hard as it would be, I would definitely have a party.
"I would send out invitations saying ‘I don’t know how much longer I have left’ and it would be a chance to say goodbye."
Although she’s planning her final moments, Linda’s cancer is currently under control.
She said at the end of last year: "I’m relieved. I’m so happy I’ve got good news to tell my family and my friends. I can plan, I can start thinking about going away again, not worrying about any pains I get, that’s natural, I’ve got painkillers.
"And every three months they’re going to see me to have a scan, and I’ve just got to be good to myself and look after myself. And look forward with a positive sign now.
"I can look at the little nieces and nephews now and not get upset, because there’s every possibility I am going to see them growing up, it’s brilliant."
And Linda has said she refuses to be defeated by the incurable illness, and says she’s a "tough cookie" who is going to "fight" the disease with everything she has.
She added: "Final message to cancer? You’re dealing with a tough cookie here, so you know, be careful because I’m going to fight you all the way."
