Sir Paul McCartney says he’s still writing songs with the same rule‑dodging, wide‑eyed mischief he had as a teenager.

Lily Allen published memoir so kids wouldn’t ‘blame themselves’

Lily Allen doesn’t want her children to "blame themselves" for her behaviour.
The ‘Apples’ singer – who has daughters Ethel, six, and five-year-old Marnie with ex-husband Sam Cooper – recently published her memoir, ‘My Thoughts Exactly’, and she preferred to be open and honest about her actions, such as sleeping with "female escorts"
during the breakdown of her marriage during her 2014 ‘Sheezus Tour’, so they wouldn’t feel "neglected" or at fault for her bad decisions.
Appearing on UK TV show ‘Loose Women’ on Monday (24.09.18), Lily admitted: "A lot of the decisions I made when my children were really, really small will have a lasting effect on them.
"If I don’t tell them the truth, they will internalise those feelings of neglect or whatever it was.
"I would rather they know it was mummy’s fault than think, ‘It’s my fault.’ "
The ‘Smile’ hitmaker also admitted that her divorce and subsequent joint custody agreement with Sam has made balancing parenthood with her hectic work schedule much easier.
She said: "Actually divorce has really helped.
"Me and my ex-husband share custody – 50/50 – we do a week on a week off.
"If I do have to leave the nest, so to speak now, they don’t really notice me going because I do it while it’s on his week.
"If it goes over a little bit, they only notice me going for three or four days rather than two weeks.
"It’s just scheduling and balance."
Lily also claimed record labels aren’t "sympathetic" when it comes to needing to be transported home to be with her children when she is on the road, but she has learned to be "firm" to get her own way.
She added: "The music industry isn’t very good at being very sympathetic with that.
"I think that was the struggle on the last tour that I felt bad saying, ‘I need to get back for my kids.’
"They would be like, ‘Well that is going to cost us too much money to get you back and flying you all over.’
"I think it’s just about being firm and not just caving in."
‘My Thoughts Exactly’ also details Lily’s alleged romp on a plane with ex-Oasis star Liam Gallagher, kissing Zoe Kravitz and almost getting it on with Orlando Bloom.
