Lil Wayne to release album this week

Lil Wayne will release his album ‘Tha Carter V’ this week.
The 35-year-old rapper has kept fans waiting three years for his 12th studio venture – his first since 2015’s ‘Free Weezy Album’ – and after it was rumoured the record would drop last week, some fans were left disappointed when the new tracks never surfaced.
However, on Tuesday (25.09.18), the ‘Love Me’ hitmaker took to social media to reveal that there was a "misunderstanding" with the release date, and he’ll actually drop the album this Friday (27.09.18), on the same day as his 36th birthday.
In a lengthy three-minute video posted on his YouTube channel and shared to Twitter, Lil Wayne said: "I heard there was a misunderstanding about the release date of ‘Tha CV’. I heard y’all got a little mixed up and y’all thought it was going to be released like last week or something. Well, I would like for you to know that since y’all stuck with me and hung in there anyway for like the past four, five years, through all of this – y’all got me feeling like Tiger Woods with this comeback – but on my birthday, I actually have something special: I will be releasing ‘Tha Carter V’."
Toward the end of the video, Lil Wayne – whose real name is Dwayne Carter – shared the album art for the record, which follows the theme of childhood photos that he’s adopted for the other four albums in the ‘Tha Carter’ series.
He added: "Honestly, my fans, my supporters, the world, you know, of course, it’s God and my family first, and I am nothing, absolutely nothing."
To keep fans excited in the last few days before the album finally gets released, the ‘Mirror’ rapper’s website now features a countdown to ‘Tha Carter V’s release date.
