Liam Payne has broken his mobile phone and lost all of his contacts while on tour.
The One Direction hunk, who is currently in Brazil with band mates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson for their ‘Where We Are Tour’, was embarrassed to ask his friends for their numbers again after destroying his phone.
Liam took to Twitter today (10.05.14) to tells friends about the accident, posting: "Most awkward tweet ever … I broke my phone lost all my contacts please text me if u have my number (sic)."
Fans re-tweeted the post more than 86,000 times and cheeky followers pretended they had sent the star a text message to try and get his number.
One smitten fan wrote: "I contacted you but you didn’t answer."
The 20-year-old singer, who recently split from girlfriend Sophia Smith, has been partying hard in Rio but is still focused on the band’s music and shows, teasing details about One Direction’s new album.
He posted: "So here it is, for all you people who have been turning us off for the last four years, this next album is about to blow your minds! (sic)", he added: "#stepbackandlisten."
Although some fans thought the release was too soon after their last record ‘Midnight Memories’, many tweeted their excitement for the album and were desperate to know if his post meant they had finished recording.
One follower wrote: "oh man i’m scared and excited I can’t wait (sic)."
