Liam Payne attends the 2017 Queen’s Young Leaders Awards

Liam Payne attended the 2017 Queen’s Young Leaders Awards on Thursday (29.06.17).
The 23-year-old singer – who is known for being in the boyband One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan – attended the star-studded bash, which took place at Australia House in London last night.
And the ‘Strip That Down’ hitmaker felt "honoured" he was invited to the ceremony, where he met with Queen Elizabeth II and her grandson Prince Harry.
Speaking during the event, which has been reported on The Daily Star Online, the vocalist said: "It was an honour to be invited."
And not only was the musician – who has three-month-old son Bear with his partner Cheryl – amazed to see the 91-year-old royal, but to also meet with "inspirational young people" who were being recognised for their contribution across the Commonwealth.
He continued: "Obviously the Queen’s Young Leaders – there are some inspirational young people in there doing some great things.
"Not only do we get to meet the Queen and say ‘Hi’, these people have done some of the best things in their communities at such a young age, you know, setting an example. It’s great."
Liam was also joined by Olympian Mo Farah – who won gold in the 5,000 metre and 10,000 metre long distance races at the 2016 Olympics – as well as YouTube sensation Caspar Lee.
During the event Harry urged "the next generation" to take note and continue to help make positive changes across the globe.
He said: "The Commonwealth represents nearly a third of the world’s population – and is home to over a billion young people under the age of 30. These young people are already tackling many of today’s most pressing issues and will be the creative minds to take on the biggest challenges we will face in the future. It’s our job – those of us who can no longer hand-on-heart call ourselves ‘young’ – to create a platform where we can listen to the next generation and empower them to act."
