Liam Hemsworth looks "impressive without his clothes on".
The 26-year-old actor had to strip down to his underwear for one of the first scenes he shot for ‘The Dressmaker’ and while his co-stars Kate Winslet and Judy Davis found his near-nakedness very amusing, the film’s director, Jocelyn Moorhouse, insists the hunky star had nothing to worry about.
She said: "It was a potentially embarrassing scene for him.
"But then again, he’s quite impressive without his clothes on so he really had nothing to do worry about. Kate and Judy were having a great time doing as many takes as possible."
In ‘The Dressmaker’, Kate plays a woman who returns to Australia after years working in London in high fashion. Her alter ego cares for her mother (Davis) and falls in love with a local farmer, who is played by Liam.
And Jocelyn was elated at the chemistry between her lead actors.
She told E! News: "We didn’t have much time to rehearse.
"Liam had come straight off of ‘The Hunger Games’. We had one read-through the night before and then as soon as I saw him looking at her with those beautiful blue eyes of his and the way she looks back at him, I was thrilled. I knew, yeah, instant chemistry! These two are gorgeous together."
While Liam – who is in a relationship with Miley Cyrus – was nervous about working with Kate, 40, the Oscar-winning actress quickly put him at ease and he never let his fears get in the way of his performance.
The filmmaker said: "He didn’t let [his nerves] get in the way of being incredibly confident on set. He was very confident and cool. He was very professional and Kate makes it easy.
"She’s so wonderful with other actors. She’s so generous and so funny and just puts everybody at ease."
