Liam Gallagher slams concertgoer after flares launched into crowd

Liam Gallagher has blasted a concertgoer after flares were launched into the crowd during Oasis’ first Australian show on their reunion tour.

The Wonderwall hitmakers were almost at the end of their set at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Friday (31.11.25) night when two flares were seen flying into the tightly-packed floor section of the venue during Champagne Supernova.

Liam and his brother Noel Gallagher appeared unhappy on stage, with the singer seen mouthing “naughty, naughty” and wagging his finger, though they didn’t interrupt their performance.

But after the show, the 53-year-old frontman blasted the reveller who had let off the flares on X.

He fumed: “To the massive **** who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are 1 seriously f***ed up individual and you will get yours trust me.(sic)”

One fan, Virginia, told how she and her 13-year-old daughter left the concert early due to safety fears over the flares.

She told news.com.au: “Each time you saw this flash, it looked like a fire, and then it was contained fairly quickly.”

Last month, Oasis fans were given the strongest hint yet the band may return to Knebworth for a huge run of gigs next summer.

The rockers reunited this year for their Oasis Live ’25 world tour, which is due to end in Brazil next month, and followers have been speculating about the possibility the band may continue their successful run by returning to Knebworth House in Hertfordshire in 2026 to mark 30 years since they played their two record-breaking gigs there back in 1996.

And a few weeks ago, a member of the UK’s House of Lords – Lady Taylor of Stevenage – talked about the band in the chamber, telling the house: “Next July, I will have the benefit of five days of Oasis concerts in the fantastic venue of Knebworth House, which is just about a mile away from my house.

“I can hear and enjoy [the gigs] from my house, and they represent the important cultural role of music venues and … make an enormous contribution to our economy.”

However, Lady Taylor later clarified her comments, telling the Guardian newspaper: “I was speaking hypothetically following speculation that they would play Knebworth again as they did in August 1996. I understand the band have not confirmed this.”

Henry Lytton-Cobbold – owner of Knebworth House – has also previously confirmed he’s keen for Oasis to return to site for gigs next year, telling the Guardian: “Clearly it’s what the people want, clearly it should happen – but let’s get it in the diary, as our summer 2026 weekends are swiftly filling up.”

And Liam previously hinted at more Oasis tour dates.

After a fan asked why the 2002 track The Hindu Times – the lead single from their chart-topping fifth studio album Heathen Chemistry – didn’t make the setlist for the Britpop legends’ first tour in 16 years, Liam appeared to suggest the jaunt would extend beyond the current final date, November 23 in São Paulo.

He replied: “Chill Winston it’s not even HALF TIME yet. It’s a tour of 2 half’s (sic).”
