Liam Gallagher: I won’t get over Oasis

Liam Gallagher "won’t get over" Oasis.
The 45-year-old rocker was the frontman of the ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ hitmakers until their untimely split in 2009, and whilst his brother, rival, and former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher is keen to leave the band behind, Liam has insisted he’s "still deeply grieving" its loss.
He said: "That f***ing band meant everything to me. Everything. It’s in my veins. It’s not about the money. I’m still deeply f***ing disturbed and still deeply grieving for that band."
The ‘Wall of Glass’ singer – who formed Beady Eye with former Oasis members Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and Chris Sharrock before calling it quits in 2014 and then later pursuing a solo career – slammed those who tell him to "get over" the band’s split, and said it feels as though "part of [his] soul was ripped" out.
Speaking to NME for the first edition of NME Gold, Liam added: "I know it’s been nine years or however long it is, and I know people go, ‘Yeah, but get over it.’ But no. I won’t f***ing get over it. Maybe I need to go and see someone about it. The Ready Brek glow was there, and now it’s not. It was like part of my f***ing system and soul was ripped and f***ing just f***ed off to the side."
Since Oasis split, Liam and his 50-year-old brother have been locked in a bitter feud, and the ‘For What It’s Worth’ musician recently admitted he wants to "hug it out" and make amends.
He said: "I hope we make up. Not just for Oasis but for brothers. Enough is enough now. I know I wind him up. I have put it out there enough times, but I think he doesn’t want to know. I reckon we would have to meet up and hug it out, as they say."
