Liam Gallagher: 90s nearly killed me

Liam Gallagher wouldn’t want to relive the 90s because it "almost killed" him.
The "mad for it" former Oasis frontman is one of notorious rock ‘n’ roll hellraisers and during his time in the ‘Supersonic’ band he got involved in numerous shenanigans, mostly fuelled by drink and recreational drugs.
When asked by a fan on Twitter on Friday (12.01.18), if he’d like to go back to the Britpop era by travelling in a "time machine", Liam insisted: "God no they were great times but they nearly killed me (sic)"
Now 45, the ‘Songbird’ songwriter has calmed down a lot and while he still enjoys a trip down the pub, he would never go completely teetotal because life would become too dull and he’d be too nice.
He said previously: "I do like a drink, I’m not an alcoholic, but I like talking s**t to people, I like the s**t that comes with drinking. But I have been sober for six months before, it’s just boring. I felt too good, I was opening doors for people and getting old ladies’ bags of shopping and saying I’ll help you across the road – f**k that. I don’t want to feel that good, who wants to feel too good?"
The ‘Wall of Glass’ hitmaker – who released his debut solo LP ‘As You Were’ last year – was living the life of a rock star long before Oasis burst onto the music scene in 1994, and he was experimenting with substances, such as psychedelic mushrooms, when he just 15.
He added: "People think just because you’re joining a band it’s your first beer or whatever, or your first line or whatever you smoke.
"I was mushroomed out of my face when I was 15 and 16, before I even joined the band at 19."
Moving on to his fractured relationship with his brother Noel, Liam believes things eventually soured between them because they had slated so many other musicians that the only people left to attack were each other.
He quipped: "We definitely had some good times, and the good times outweigh the bad times. But I think it just got that we had pretty much slagged off everyone in the whole universe, that it just come full circle and we ended up meeting each other and thought, ‘Well you can f***ing have it now."
Noel, 50, quit Oasis in 2009 following a backstage bust-up between him and Liam before a concert in Paris, France, which ended with the volatile frontman swinging a guitar at his sibling’s head after the songwriter had stamped on one of his instruments.
