Liam Charles wants to go on Strictly Come Dancing

‘Great British Bake Off’ star Liam Charles wants to compete on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 19-year-old baker – who reached the quarter finals of this year’s culinary contest – is impressed 2016 winner Candice Brown is competing in the new series of ‘Dancing On Ice’, and though it isn’t the show for him, he would like to learn a new skill on a reality show.
He admitted: "Yeah, ‘Strictly’, I’d love to do that."
While Liam left the ‘Bake Off’ tent after forgotten bakes week in week eight, it was actually the pudding task in episode five which he singled out as his worst moment on the show.
Asked his ‘Bake Off’ horror moment, he said: "When I realised the jelly hadn’t set for my trifle [in the showstopper challenge] in week five."
And it was just a week before, during the caramel-themed challenges that Liam had his most memorable moment on the show.
He recalled to BANG Showbiz: "[My favourite moment] was getting a Hollywood handshake from Paul."
Liam has partnered with Sony to show how easy it is to make technology the centre of the kitchen with their Sony Smart Speaker, the LF-S50G, but even the clever gadget hasn’t been able to save him from mishaps in the kitchen.
He admitted: "I spilt some icing sugar on the speaker, but that wiped off easy enough…
"I also use it to listen to Drake while I’m baking, as well as asking it about the weather and new songs."
But the young baker thinks the gadget is the perfect sous chef.
He said: "I’m not going to lie, I can get a bit carried away in the kitchen, experimenting and testing out new flavours and recipes. The SonySmart speaker worked as an ideal sous chef; not only will it answer my questions but it can play my favourite playlist and can pause when I need a second to concentrate.
"And, the sound quality is banging so I can hear music and responses over the noise, wherever I am in the kitchen!"
Sony has partnered with ‘GBBO’ runner-up, Liam to create a cheesecake mince pie recipe with help from the Sony smart speaker with integrated Google Assistant.
