Leslie Jones worked as a telemarketer for Scientology

Leslie Jones used to work for the Church of Scientology.
The ‘Ghostbusters’ actress admitted that, before finding fame, she had a telemarketing job with the sci-fi cult – which counts Tom Cruise and John Travolta among its members – and they still don’t know she doesn’t share their controversial beliefs.
Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres asked her: "You were a telemarketer for Scientology?"
She replied: "Uh, yeah, they still kinda don’t know I’m not a Scientologist. Thanks for blowing my cover, Ellen!"
The 48-year-old star admitted she "acted crazy" in order to land the job, much to the amusement of her ‘Ghostbusters’ co-stars, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy.
She said: "I lived in Glendale I needed to pay the rent, and it was a very easy interview. I just acted crazy.
"Oh my god, I’m sorry Scientologist for revealing things."
While Kate jokingly moved away from Leslie, Kristen admitted she was having a great time on the show.
She said: "This is the best interview I’ve ever been on."
But Leslie wasn’t the only one of the actresses to have had an unusual job – Kate used to be an umpire for Little League baseball, despite not having much knowledge of the rules of the sport, much to the annoyance of the young players.
She said: "In retrospect, I should have brushed up on the rules for softball before litigating them.
"Oh, I got yelled at. They did not like my calls and they were bad, bad calls."
Elsewhere on the show, Kate, 32, revealed her ‘Saturday Night Live’ co-star Leslie once got her confused with Britain’s Duchess of Cambridge, who was known as Kate Middleton before her marriage.
She said: "We had known each other for about a year because she had been a writer at ‘SNL’ before she was on the cast. We happened to be out to dinner and she looked at me and she was like, ‘Kate Middleton, you alright.’
‘And I was like ‘Leslie, it’s McKinnon, you’ve known me for like a year.’ "
Leslie added: "And I was like ‘Well who is Middleton then?’ And she was like ‘It’s a princess, b***h!’ "
