Lesley Manville too busy for Maleficent sequel

Lesley Manville is too busy to film ‘Maleficent 2’.
The 60-year-old actress played the role of Flittle the Fairy in the 2014 reimagining of the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ tale, which featured Angelina Jolie in the title role, but she is unsure if she would be able to return to Walt Disney’s planned sequel.
She said: "Maybe I’ve got quite a lot on the go at the moment. I’m not available as we speak until the middle of 2018 so I don’t know when I’d fit Maleficent in if it was happening but let’s see."
However, the ‘Another Year’ actress admitted she hasn’t been approached about the project yet.
She told BANG Showbiz:"Nobody’s talked to me about a sequel – I know nothing about it. I mean I seriously know nothing about it.
"If Maleficent do call, I will have to…I don’t know, try and fit it in.
"You know more than me. I must ring my agent."
But if she isn’t asked to be in the sequel, Lesley has plenty of other work to keep her busy.
She explained: "I’m working on a film at the moment but I can’t speak about it I’m afraid but it is quite a major film, then I’m going to do a series of ‘Mum’ which is a BBC series I did last year and then possibly another [series of] ‘Harlots’. And then possibly the beginning of 2018, hopefully bring a play – ‘A Long Day’s Journey in to Night’ – I did with Jeremy Irons earlier this year. We’re going to bring it to town but not until 2018."
