Leighton Meester is "very happy" to be married.
The former ‘Gossip Girl’ star tied the knot with Adam Brody, 34, near the ocean in Northern California "a couple of weeks ago" and is still basking in newlywed bliss.
A source close to the 27-year-old actress told PEOPLE.com: "She’s very happy. She has a lovely ring. She likes [it] a lot."
The insider revealed that while the brunette beauty and her beau of one year were eager to keep their "under-wraps wedding" a secret and "super intimate," the actress has been showing off her new wedding ring to lots of friends.
The couple were spotted at the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort in Mexico last weekend, but the source insisted it wasn’t their honeymoon.
The insider explained: "She was in Mexico shooting. Adam was with her, but it wasn’t their honeymoon. It was strictly a professional trip."
But the duo, who only started dating in early 2013 after meeting on the set of ‘The Oranges’ in 2011, did enjoy some relaxing moments together.
An eyewitness said: "They weren’t holding hands or engaged in over-the-top PDA. I didn’t even see them kiss. They seemed relaxed, like any other couple would be, having a conversation, taking in the sunset and being completely at ease with each other. They left right as the sun set, headed toward the beach with camera in hand."
