Lego Movie Sequel script being re-written

‘The Lego Movie Sequel’ is being re-written by Raphael Bob-Waksberg.
The animated film – the follow-up to the acclaimed ‘Lego Movie’ which was released in 2014 and focused on the extraordinary adventure of main character Emmet (Chris Pratt) and Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks)
– is being changed with the original script penned by Phil Lord and Chris Miller undergoing alterations.
Bob-Waksberg is famous for creating Netflix’s ‘BoJack Horseman’, with a third series of the adult cartoon hitting the TV streaming service on July 22.
The script change is the latest delay to the project, following the release date being pushed back to 2019.
It is believed that Bob-Waksberg has been brought on board because Lord and Miller are busy working on the script for the standalone ‘Han Solo’, a prequel to ‘Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope’.
Before ‘The Lego Movie Sequel’ hits cinemas, there are two spin-off films coming out.
‘The Lego Ninjago Movie’ – which has a voice cast that includes Jackie Chan, Dave Franco and Michael Pena – comes out in late 2017, and it will be preceded by the hotly-anticipated ‘Lego Batman Movie’ in February 2017.
Will Arnett returns to voice the miniature version of The Caped Crusader, Mariah Carey will be providing the voice for the Major of Gotham City, Rosario Dawson voices Barbara Gordon – the daughter of police commissioner James Gordon who later becomes Batgirl – and Ralph Fiennes talks for Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred Pennyworth.
