Léa Seydoux’s secret career

Léa Seydoux’s mother only realised she was an actress "recently".
The 31-year-old actress has starred in a plethora of blockbuster movies including ‘Spectre’, ‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ and ‘Inglourious Basterds’ but admits her mother Valérie Schlumberger didn’t realise she was a movie star for a long time.
She told The Observer magazine: "My mother is in this iconic film, but she never wanted to be an actress. Acting is not in our family … And my father, maybe because his father is in cinema, it is not his thing. He is more into technology. He makes headphones. He is like a geek with his glasses and his passion for computers …
"My mother, I don’t think she realised I was doing this job until recently. My mum called me and said, ‘Oh, what are you doing now?’ I said I was packing to go to Canada to shoot ‘Mission: Impossible’. She paused for a moment and said, ‘Oh, OK, and when do you come back?’ My mother is definitely in her own world. She has a special personality. She is uncommon. Like me, she is a dreamer."
Meanwhile, Léa previously confessed she sees acting as her "refuge".
She shared: "It is a dehumanised world we live in. I don’t like modernity. I don’t have television or the internet at home. The internet scares me. I can’t drive a car. That is why I do this job. This is why I became an actress. So that people will take care of me. To be an actress is a refuge. You are taken everywhere, stay in wonderful hotels, everyone looks after you, buys you clothes, food."
And Lea admitted she burst into tears at the end of filming ‘Spectre’ as it represents a major landmark in her career.
She added: "It’s a big experience. It’s huge. It’s my biggest part in a very big film. I would never have dreamed I would one day be a Bond girl. I cried at the end of the film. My last shot, I cried. I’ve never cried at the end of a film."
