Laura Norton wants ‘low key’ Christmas

Laura Norton wants to have a "low key" Christmas after a "really busy year".
The ‘Emmerdale’ actress – who plays Kerry Wyatt on the ITV soap – is looking forward to a "very chilled" festive period, and can’t wait for her fiance and former co-star Mark Jordon to cook a lovely lunch on Christmas Day.
She said: "It’s going to be very chilled, because I’ve had a really busy year.
"My partner has a son and daughter, and he’s an amazing cook – he’ll cook us a big Christmas dinner.
"We’ll watch some films and go for a nice walk. I just want something really low-key."
Laura is "very excited" about her ‘Emmerdale’ plots next year, but has remained tight lipped about what is in store for Kerry.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "For next year, I think she needs to stop drinking to be honest, because that’s when she makes all her bad decisions.
"I’m very excited about what’s coming up – but I can’t tell you why."
At the beginning of the year, Mark revealed he and Laura had got engaged in 2018, which he said had "some of the highest highs and the lowest lows".
A month later the actor confirmed he had left ‘Emmerdale’, admitting he would "miss working with" Laura, and in August he was found not guilty of affray, unlawful wounding and assault by beating following a beer garden row on July 1st 2018.
Laura was in tears in the public gallery, while the jury deliberated the case for almost seven hours.
And earlier this month, Mark Jordon dropped a huge hint he may have signed up to ‘Emmerdale’ again.
He wrote on Twitter: "Okay , me n my agent sat on the good news . Contract signed . More info to follow (sic)"
Just last month, he wrote on Twitter: "Been luck enough to have been sharing company with my Emmerdale buddies again recently . Feel so lucky , such brilliant peeps (sic)"
Following his tweet, several soap fans admitted they would love to see him return to the show.
In response to one he simply posted a prayer emoji, and to another fan who said they "hoped" he was returning to the programme, Mark replied: "I would like that too , love the crew who make it , love my friends who act in it . Great gig (sic)"
