Laura Carmichael confirms costumes exhibition tour

Laura Carmichael has confirmed costumes and scripts from ‘Downton Abbey’ will be going on tour.
The 30-year-old actress played Lady Edith Crawley in the period drama for five years until it finished in 2015 and has now revealed the costumes worn by the cast members will be going on an exhibition tour.
Speaking at Parkinson’s UK’s Symfunny No.2 at the Royal Albert Hall, Laura told The Sun newspaper: "They are doing an exhibition I know that. I think you’ll be able to see costumes and things which I think will be really exciting because they are works of art."
And it’s not just the exhibition fans have to look forward to as a big screen adaptation of the popular series is said to be in the works – although Laura has admitted she’s yet to see a script for the film.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz, the blonde beauty said: "I am always amazed. My family are always telling me what they read but I don’t know any more than that. As we have said before, if there is a script for us then we will be delighted. We just have to wait and see."
Michelle Dockery, 35, who played Lady Mary Crawley, also said she has heard the rumour that the script has been written and is welcoming the adaptation.
Screenwriter Julian Fellowes has revealed he is in the process of writing a movie script for the show but said it hasn’t been commissioned yet.
He said: " It hasn’t been confirmed or commissioned yet… But we are all hoping it will happen. That’s all I know. Obviously I have been thinking about it because if they suddenly give the go-ahead I don’t want to be completely caught standing. But I wouldn’t take it as more than that."
However, ‘Downton Abbey’ co-star Dame Maggie Smith has slammed the rumours of a movie saying it would squeeze the series "dry".
She said: "I just think it’s squeezing it dry. I don’t know what it could possibly be."
