Larry Lamb jokes casting directors think he’s dead

Larry Lamb has joked that he hopes casting directors don’t think he’s dead.
The 70-year-old actor hasn’t been seen on screens for over a year because he is currently waiting for two new projects to swing into action but, in the meantime, he’s "busy doing nothing" and is worried that potential employers may forget about him.
Speaking at the launch of Cirque du Soleil’s Ovo at the Royal Albert Hall, he told BANG Showbiz: "At the moment I’m just waiting to do two new things, so I’m busy doing nothing. You never know what you’re going to do in this game, films or TV.
"You just keep trucking along and hope that someone remembers you’re alive. I’d love to just win the lottery now, just like everyone else!"
Larry is best known for playing Mick Shipman in the romantic comedy series ‘Gavin & Stacey’, which ran from 2007 until 2010, and has admitted he’d love to do another instalment in the opportunity came up because the show is still "growing."
He explained: "’Gavin & Stacey’ is growing still. It’s the show that people still ask me about and the one they remember me from, people always ask me, ‘Are you going to do anymore ‘Gavin and Stacey’ and I always reply, ‘I don’t know.’ It’s just goes round and round. I think they (James Corden and Ruth Jones, who created the series) would like to do more, but everybody who was in it have all got their own lives now so it would be hard to get them all together. Trying to gather that group together would be far more difficult now than it was back then.
"I don’t think any of us that were in it look back on it as anything other than an extraordinary experience. It was just amazing right from the beginning."
