Lady Gaga: Tony Bennett restored my passion for music

Lady Gaga says Tony Bennett "restored her passion" for music.
The ‘Born This Way’ singer teamed up with the jazz legend on 2014 covers album ‘Cheek to Cheek’ and says their time spent working together liberated her.
She shared: "He restored my passion, my life changed so much putting out those records. It was so hard to get a grasp on all of it. Yeah I took some time away from pop music but acting and singing jazz that stuff was like being a teenager again."
The 30-year-old beauty took a three-year break from pop music following the release of 2013’s ‘Artpop’ and admits to feeling pressured to write a pop record, however, she opted to go in a different direction.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘Lorraine, she explained: "I think that was important for me, was not to feel caged. I’m very rebellious. If I feel like everyone’s telling me I need to do pop music all the time and do this and do that and keep up with what they think is a Lady Gaga brand I want to run entirely in the other direction screaming."
Meanwhile, Gaga previously admitted she considered turning her back on the gritty industry and stalling her talent after the release of ‘Artpop’.
She explained: "I was just having a really depressed time in my life where wasn’t able to see my own ability or my own talent.
"And when you lose grasp of those sorts of things, you can just spiral.
"But you know, to the world ‘quitting music’ means one thing and to me its means another. I meant to giving putting out music, as opposed to just doing it for myself, which what makes me really and truly happy."
