Lady Gaga has a ‘complicated relationship with fame’

Lady Gaga lost her “sense of self” after becoming famous.

The 38-year-old pop star has explored her “complicated relationship with fame” on new song ‘Perfect Celebrity’, and Gaga has now described the track as “one of the more angry songs” she’s ever written.

The singer – whose real name is Stefani Germanotta – said on ‘The Howard Stern Show’: “I think in a way, when I was writing, I was feeling like there was the real me and there was the clone me.

“It’s kind of one of the more angry songs I’ve ever written.”

Gaga also admitted to having mixed feelings about her decision to get involved in the music industry.

The chart-topping star – who recently released her new album, ‘Mayhem’ – said: “The song is a little bit of a retaliation against myself, and I’m just sort of trying to figure out as I go through it, how I feel about it all, and it’s kind of a reckless tune, I think, in a way.”

Earlier this month, Gaga admitted that she initially found it “really hard” to cope with stardom.

The pop singer signed with Interscope Records back in 2007 and she quickly became one of the most talked-about artists in the world – but Gaga has ultimately found a stable, healthy influence in the form of Michael Polansky, her fiance.

The ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker told ‘Extra’: “In any room, he just holds me so high, and I’m sure that people don’t, like, all know this, but being the only woman in the room most of the time since I was a teenager was really hard. And so I have a deep love for my fiance because he just, he, like, holds me in a sacred space.”
