Lady Gaga, Aretha Franklin and more for Tony Bennett TV special

Aretha Franklin, Lady Gaga and Sir Elton John are among stars who will perform live on TV for Tony Bennett’s 90th birthday.
NBC’s ‘Tony Bennett Celebrates 90: The Best Is Yet to Come’ will air on December 20 and will also feature Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Rufus Wainright, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Diana Krall and many more.
On reaching the milestone age, the legendary singer – who turns 90 on Wednesday (03.08.16) – said: "I turn 90 tomorrow (03.08.16) and feel like I’m just getting started and look forward to each day."
The ‘Anything Goes’ hitmaker feels honoured that so many big artists will come together to mark the occasion.
He said: "I have loved performing for the public and sharing the music I love with the world. It’s a thrill to have NBC air a special in honour of my birthday and to have so many wonderful artists that I have worked with and admire participate."
Tony has worked with most of the stars, including most recently ‘Poker Face’ hitmaker Gaga.
The pair released covers album ‘Cheek to Cheek’ in 2014, which went straight to number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
And it’s not the first time a TV special in Tony’s honour has been aired.
In 2006, ‘Tony Bennett: An American Classic’ was broadcast when he turned 80 and it went on to earn seven Emmy Awards.
Robert Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC Entertainment, commented: "Since we celebrated Tony’s 80th birthday on NBC, it only seemed fitting that we should also stop and pay tribute to his 90th, a true milestone for the greatest living vocalist of popular music.
"Happy birthday, Tony, your achievements are epic and your voice has been the soundtrack of four generations. We and the entire music business are in awe."
Meanwhile, it’s not just music stars on the lineup.
Actors including Kevin Spacey, John Travolta and Bruce Willis and Alec Baldwin will also be in attendance.
‘Tony Bennett Celebrates 90: The Best Is Yet to Come’ will be aired on NBC on December 20.
