Lacey Turner and Jessie Wallace to make EastEnders return

Lacey Turner and Jessie Wallace will return to the ‘EastEnders’ set for spin-off series ‘Secrets from the Square’.

The pair, who play Stacey Fowler and her cousin Kat Moon respectively, will speak about their Slater family roots and what is to come when the unit gets back together.

Lacey has been away from Albert Square since last summer when she went on maternity leave, and she gave birth to daughter Dusty in July 2019.

In the soap, Stacey fled Walford after she attacked Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) with a wrench.

The character did make a brief return in May via a phone call to Davood Ghadami’s character Kush Kazemi.

Lacey’s voice could be heard on the show, but she didn’t appear in person.

Davood recently confirmed Kat would be back in Albert Square to spend lockdown with boyfriend Kush.

Jessie was temporarily written out of the BBC One soap earlier this year following an alleged on-set incident, and her return was delayed further after coronavirus caused filming to be paused from late March.

Last month, Jessie teased Kat’s return after thanking a fan for gifting her a pair of earrings.

She wrote: "Thank you @nancy_and_nora for these beauty’s! Kat can not wait to wear them (sic)"

Kat departed Walford in March after receiving a worrying phone call.

The soap is currently off-air after running out of episodes, but the programme will return later this year.

In its place, the BBC have been airing ‘EastEnders’ interview series ‘Secrets from the Square’ – hosted by Stacey Dooley – on Mondays, and classic episodes on Tuesdays.

Other cast members set to appear on future episodes include Zack Morris (Keegan Butcher-Baker), Maisie Smith (Tiffany Butcher-Baker) and Lorraine Stanley (Karen Taylor), as well as Jessica Plummer (Chantelle Atkins) and Toby-Alexander Smith (Gray Atkins).

What’s more, former ‘Bad Girls’ co-stars Linda Henry and Luisa Bradshaw-White will relive the moments that defined their ‘EastEnders’ characters Shirley and Tina Carter, and on-screen brothers Jake Wood (Max Branning) and Scott Maslen (Jack Branning) will also tell all about their bromance.
