La Roux blasted by ex-bandmate

Ben Langmaid has appeared to slam his former La Roux bandmate.

The songwriter parted ways with Elly Jackson during the recording of new album ‘Trouble in Paradise’ and after she criticised Kanye West in an interview at the weekend, he seems to have taken the rapper’s side.

He first tweeted the ‘Bound 2’ star to say "Love you man".

He then retweeted a number of posts from Kanye and also comments from other people about La Roux, including one which read: "F**k La Roux, nobody knows her."

He then gave a withering response when asked what instruments Elly had played on the album, as she is credited with many on the sleeve notes.

He replied: "er, triangle I think. (sic)"

Ben later claimed Ian Sherwin, who wrote three tracks on ‘Trouble in Paradise’ and has become Elly’s closest working partner, was the reason he left La Roux.

He slammed: "The guy’s an idiot. He’s the reason I left.

"The dude’s a poacher. He couldn’t write a nursery rhyme."

Elly recently claimed she and Ben went their separate ways because she became a "different person" after touring their debut album in America.

She said recently: "It was always going to be difficult because we’d had a long time away from each other when I was on tour.

"We weren’t really that connected and I’d realised what kind of performer I wanted to be onstage, which led to me finding my first record restricting. I came back home and I felt like a different person."
