Kym Marsh wants to "play other parts".
The 38-year-old actress has played ‘Coronation Street’s Michelle Connor for nine years and though she feels very "fortunate" to enjoy her job so much, she admits it is too "intense" for her to be able to try other things too.
She said: "If it suits both ‘Coronation Street’ and I, we’ll stay together.
"I would like to play other parts but when you’re in a show like ‘Corrie’, you have to focus on it because you’re so intensely involved.
"I’m very fortunate to be part of such a great team and show. It’s amazing and I’m very lucky to be in work."
The ‘Corrie’ cast were left devastated last month when long-serving star Anne Kirkbride passed away, and though she says they will always miss her, Kym – whose third child, Archie, died shortly after he was born prematurely six years ago – believes they have all accepted life needs to continue without her.
She told OK! magazine: "We will always miss her but everyone is doing their best to carry on.
"It’s like when I lost Archie – you have to get to a point where you carry on because the world carries on without you. There’s nothing else you can do."
