Kym Marsh keen for Strictly after more acting work

Kym Marsh is keen to compete on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – but only when she has got more acting work "under her belt".
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress is to depart the cobbles later this year after playing Michelle Connor since 2006, and while she has her eye on the BBC Latin and ballroom show at some point, she would love to test herself in other roles first.
She said: "It’s a show I would potentially like to do at some point, but I want to get some more acting work under my belt post-Corrie first."
Kym’s former co-star Catherine Tyldesley has signed up for this year’s ‘Strictly’, and the 43-year-old actress cannot wait to watch her pal in action.
Writing in her OK! magazine column, she added: "I don’t know what her dancing ability is like but It’ll be great to see her in it."
Kym was heavily linked to ‘Strictly’ and ‘I’m A Celebrity… Me Out Of Here!’ earlier this year, following confirmation she is departing Weatherfield, but she shut down speculation she could be set to appear in either show in 2019.
She said at the time: "As wonderful as those shows are, I’m not leaving ‘Corrie’ after 13 years to do reality TV."
Kym recently signed up to co-host ‘For Love Or Money’, a new documentary about "romance fraud", alongside Ashley John-Baptiste.
The ‘Corrie’ favourite – who has been a victim of identity fraud – recently said: "This series has been a real eye-opener. It was relatable to me as, in the past, I discovered that my identity had been stolen so a scammer could use it.
"I was horrified. It’s such an awful crime and its long-lasting effects are emotional and financial."
