Kylie Minogue hails Neighbours creator Reg Watson

Kylie Minogue has hailed ‘Neighbours’ creator Reg Watson for changing the lives of "millions" of people following his death on Friday (11.10.19).
The 51-year-old pop star – who played the role of Charlene Robinson on the Australian soap – has taken to Twitter to hail the influence of Reg, who passed away aged 93.
Kylie wrote on Twitter: "What a legacy Reg Watson leaves. For me, and millions of others, Neighbours impacted our lives. My thoughts and best wishes to his family and friends. (sic)"
The chart-topping singer wrote the statement in response to a message posted on the official Twitter page of ‘Neighbours’, which is Australia’s all-time longest running TV drama.
The message – written by executive producer of the show, Jason Herbison – read: "Everyone at Neighbours is sad to hear of the passing of our creator, Reg Watson. He was a pioneer of drama, prolific in his output and by all accounts a lovely person to work with. His legacy lives on in Ramsay Street to this day (sic)"
Reg was born in Queensland, Australia, in the 1950s before he relocated to the UK, where he helped to create the TV show ‘Crossroads’.
Subsequently, he was was headhunted by an Australian studio to create a new drama department for Grundy Television.
‘Neighbours’ has helped to launch the careers of many of Australia’s best-known stars, including the likes of Kylie, Margot Robbie, Holly Vallance and Jason Donovan.
In 2010, Reg was made a Member of the Order of Australia for services to the media.
