Kristen Stewart on gender equality: Don’t complain, go do something

Kristen Stewart has urged those worried about gender equality in Hollywood to "go do something" about it.

The ‘Twilight’ star finds constant talking about the concept "boring" and would rather someone just be done about it.

She told Variety: "Instead of sitting around and complaining about that, do something. Go write something, go do something.

"And that’s easy to say. Like, f**k, it’s hard to get movies made. It’s a huge luxury. Who gets to just make movies? But that subject is just so prevalently everywhere right now, and it’s boring."

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old actress previously revealed she is a "lot happier" now because she can be herself.

She said: "I’m a lot happier and I’m feeling really good. I feel I can be myself more and now allow myself to get sidetracked by other considerations or advice from people.

"Earlier in my career I had too many people telling me what I should be doing and it was hard for me to deal with all that. That was very confusing because I’ve always been the type of person who likes t do her own thing.

"But when your career reaches a certain level, there are so many responsibilities that come with that and sometimes you feel your life is not your own any more. That’s why I decided to change a lot of things about how I was working and try to be true to myself."
