Kristen Bell’s children have walked in on her having sex.
The 37-year-old actress has admitted she and her husband Dax Shepard – whom she married in 2013 – were forced to think quick on their feet when their daughters Delta, two, and Lincoln, four, came waltzing into their bedroom while they were getting frisky between the sheets.
Speaking on ‘The Talk’, the blonde beauty said: "Oh, they’ve walked in on us having sex. That’s how they were made, it’s OK!"
When Julie Chen asked what she and Dax did, the actress said: "Well, we didn’t, like, continue… we sort of just went like, ‘Hey, what’s up? What do you need? What do you need?’… And then we just said, ‘Mommy and daddy are just going to take a nap for a couple of minutes.’"
But it’s not the intimate activity in the bedroom that keeps their relationship interesting as the ‘Bad Moms’ star believes making each other laugh is the key to a successful marriage.
She said recently: "Well the funny keeps it spicy for us a lot. He keeps me laughing all the time. I try to make him laugh and every now and again I get there. But really it’s just being aware of the other person’s needs is also hot."
But, although their love life isn’t always as passionate as it used to be, she joked that she often gets turned on when her 42-year-old spouse does simple tasks – like making a cup of coffee.
She said: "It’s not like anybody’s closing the door after work and ripping each other’s clothes off. It sort of comes out of like, he’ll make the coffee or like wear a Christmas sweater to the ‘Bad Moms’ premiere, which I was like, ‘Are you trying to make me horny?’ Come on!"
