KISS announce final tour

KISS have announced their final tour.
The US rockers will bow out from performing following a 45-year career with an upcoming ‘End of the Road World Tour’ – the dates for which are yet to be announced – and they claim the run of gigs will be the "most explosive, biggest shows we’ve ever done".
Speaking on the season finale of NBC’s ‘America’s Got Talent’ on Wednesday (19.09.18), on which they performed their hit ‘Detroit Rock City’, they said: "This is going to be our last tour.
"It will be the most explosive, biggest shows we’ve ever done. People who love us, come to see us. If you’ve never seen us, this is the time. This will be the show."
They added in a statement on their website: "All that we have built and all that we have conquered over the past four decades could never have happened without the millions of people worldwide who’ve filled clubs, arenas and stadiums over those years.
"This will be the ultimate celebration for those who’ve seen us and a last chance for those who haven’t.
"KISS Army, we’re saying goodbye on our final tour with our biggest show yet and we’ll go out the same way we came in… Unapologetic and Unstoppable. (sic)"
KISS – who are made up of Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer – are no strangers to calling it quits.
In 2000, frontman Gene said the band would be bowing out, and while they made a comeback, it proved to be the last time he performed with fellow original members Paul, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss.
He said at the time: "There just aren’t any more mountains to climb. We want to go out in style with the people that put us here, the fans."
But two years later, KISS were back, with Gene admitting he wanted to return for money, the fans, and himself.
He said: "People change their minds, and in this case that goes along with being a living, thinking person. What one says one day with total commitment may at another time turn out not to be so.
"Am I doing this for the money or the fans? Both, and let’s not forget I’m doing this for me."
