Kirsten Dunst considering directing career

Kirsten Dunst is considering a career in film-making.

The 31-year-old star has been acting since the 80s, starting off as a child star in TV series and moving onto films like ‘Spider-Man’ and ‘Melancholia’, but she has now admitted she is definitely interested in trying her hand at directing in future.

She told Harper’s Bazaar magazine: "I would love it. I love getting immersed in things and being busy all the time."

However, she confessed she would have to leave the script-writing to someone more experienced as she doesn’t think she has the right skills to write a good story.

She added: "It’s just that I’m not going to write my own script. I don’t think I can, I honestly don’t. It would be easier to find a book to adapt."

Despite claiming that she’s definitely interested in making the move behind the camera, Kirsten – who will next appear in ‘The Two Faces of January’ – says her career change is a while away yet.

She said: "I’m not interested in directing right now. Maybe in three years. Who knows? Maybe I’ll have children then. I probably will – one day – want to try it."
