Kim Kardashian West reportedly wanted Kanye West to visit the ER for his flu after their son Saint’s pneumonia scare earlier this year.
The 41-year-old rapper was seen being driven to the emergency room by his wife earlier this week to be treated for flu symptoms, and it has now been claimed their trip was fuelled by fears the illness could have been much worse, after their two-year-old son Saint was hospitalised for pneumonia in January.
A source said: "Kanye had been sick for a few days and didn’t get better. They wanted to make sure that he didn’t have something serious like pneumonia since they had that scare with Saint before."
But luckily for the ‘Gold Digger’ hitmaker – who also has daughters North, five, and Chicago, six months, with his 38-year-old wife – everything is normal, and he has been given medication to help speed up his recovery.
The insider added to People magazine: "They ran some tests at the hospital and Kanye got some medications. He is doing better now. He just needs to rest for a few days and he should be good to go."
Saint spent four days in hospital at the start of this year after suffering with pneumonia, and after the ordeal, Kim took to social media to confirm her son was "all better" after having been treated for the illness, in which a person’s lungs become inflamed.
The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star shared: "My precious baby boy is so strong! After spending three nights in the hospital & seeing my baby get multiple IV’s and hooked up to oxygen machines, our end of year was challenging. Pneumonia is so scary. I just want to thanks every nurse & doctor out there who works so hard around the clock. We are so grateful for you all! He’s home and all better. He’s so resilient I’m sure he will still say the ambulance ride was cool! My strong Saint (sic)"
