Kim Kardashian worried she wouldn’t "care" about her third child as much as her other kids.
The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star was advised by doctors not to get pregnant again after suffering complications when expecting daughter North, four, and son Saint, two, so she and husband Kanye West used a surrogate to carry their daughter Chicago, who was born last month.
And the 37-year-old beauty admitted she was concerned she wouldn’t have as strong a bond with her youngest child because she hadn’t carried her herself.
She said: "I just hope I care as much. … Everyone says it’s, like, no different."
And though Kim would rather have got pregnant herself, she admitted she was relieved she wouldn’t have to deal with pregnancy weight gain and the subsequent effort of shedding the pounds afterwards.
Speaking to sister Khloe ahead of Chicago’s birth on the latest episode of ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’, she said: "Even though I will appreciate not having to gain the weight and then lose the weight… I so would have rather have done it on my own."
It seems Kim’s fears about being unable to bond with Chicago were unfounded as she recently praised her daughter as "the best baby."
Taking to her Twitter account, she said in response to a fan question about the tiny tot: "The sweetest! Best baby! She looks a bit like North and a tiny bit like Saint but definitely her own person!"
And it was recently revealed Kim is very a "hands-on" mother who has been there round-the-clock to care for the newborn.
A source said recently: "Kim gets up for everything, in the middle of the night, especially in the first week. It’s really important they bond with the baby. Kim’s a very hands-on mom. Baby is settling in beautifully. Chi is sleeping a ton for now."
