Kiefer Sutherland is "missing" Jack Bauer.
The 47-year-old actor – who reprised his role as the counter-terrorism agent for 12-part special ’24: Live Another Day’ earlier this year – had previously claimed he wouldn’t be returning to the action series, but misses his alter ego so much, he is desperate to "tell more stories".
He said: "I’m missing Jack already. I can never say never.
"My biggest fear about Jack was, ‘Can we produce the standard the fans have been sued to?’ I still feel there are more stories to tell."
And if ’24’ does return again, Kiefer would love to film in Scotland, where his grandfather was born.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "If the story was right I couldn’t say no to making 24 in Scotland.
"I have strong Scottish roots so I can’t deny that it would be special for me.
"I have Scottish ancestry on both my grandparents’ sides so I do feel a connection to the country.
"It has a great medieval feel to it with the castles and all the old architecture. I think that could make for a really dark setting."
However, the ‘Pompeii’ star insists he wouldn’t expect his character to don traditional Scottish attire.
He added: "I have worn a kilt before but even though Jack is all man, I really don’t see him ever wearing one."
