Kevin Spacey not interested in ‘crap’ movies

Kevin Spacey isn’t interested in "crap" movie roles.

The ‘House of Cards’ star’s last appearance in a film was in 2011 comedy ‘Horrible Bosses’, and aside from working on the sequel, for a reported $1 million, his focus has been on TV and theatre because he claims film-makers don’t offer him good enough parts.

He said: "You’d be shocked. There are a lot of people out there who offer roles to actors because they’ll elevate their movie to a place the movie would never reach.

"They offer them a s**tload of money for a crap part, but it doesn’t make the movie any better. And I’m not interested in elevating someone’s crap movie."

The 54-year-old actor confessed, however, that he would happily work with the legendary director behind movies such as ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, ‘Gangs of New York’ and ‘The Departed’.

He told The Hollywood Reporter: "Unless it’s Martin Scorsese, and it’s a really significant role, f**k off."

Nevertheless, Spacey is in talks to take on the role of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill in an upcoming biopic, but aside from that he claims he’s going to focus on his commitments as director of The Old Vic theatre in London.

He added: "It was absolutely unappealing to me to end up in a lot of movies I shouldn’t do, to start showing up and doing the same thing over and over."
