Kevin Simm can’t watch talent shows

Kevin Simm feels "uncomfortable" when he watches talent shows.
The 36-year-old singer was crowned the winner of ‘The Voice’ in April after he was mentored to success by Ricky Wilson but he has admitted he can’t help but cringe when he sees other television series like ‘The X Factor’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz to promote the SEE THROUGH SOUND Concert at Cadogan Hall on October 14, he said: "I’ve been watching some of the ‘X factor’ and I find it quite uncomfortable having gone through the experience myself, I know how they feel …
"But I continue to watch them and I’m sure ‘The Voice’ will be great on ITV, surely they can’t really change it that much…"
Although he doesn’t enjoy watching other talent shows, the former Liberty X singer believes his style of music has changed drastically since he finished on the show, which was previously screened on BBC but will now shift across to rival ITV, earlier this year.
He explained: "The stuff I do now is worlds apart from Liberty X as that was more of a dancy type RnB garage sound which obviously worked for us at the time.
"I enjoyed that music. But I don’t miss the dance routine, I just couldn’t dance. My new album ‘Recover’ is more guitar driven, I’d call it acoustic popular folk. I wanted to just make honest music so when people hear it they will know I’ve put my soul into it."
Proceeds from the SEE THROUGH SOUND concert will go to RNIB charity.
Kevin’s album ‘Recover’ is out on October 28.
