Kevin Feige says using magic in action shots in Doctor Strange was most challenging

Kevin Feige struggled to use magic in his latest film ‘Doctor Strange’.
The 43-year-old American film producer – who is also the President of Marvel Studios – has admitted the biggest challenge he was faced with whilst filming the upcoming science fiction film, which stars Benedict Cumberbatch as the leading hero Sorcerer Supreme, Rachel McAdams and Tilda Swinton, was shooting the "action sequences".
In an interview with Collider, Feige said: "The use of magic for action sequences was something that took a long time to figure out what road to take. We did not – and [director] Scott [Derrickson] was very smart – in not wanting it to simply be someone shoots a bolt of lightning, and someone blocks a ball of lightning, so someone throws another bolt of lightning, so someone blocks another bolt of lightning.
"There are interpretations of that. But we wanted to do something different, and we wanted to tap into this notion of the multiverse, of dimensions right next to our own."
However, Feige and his team believe they have been successful in finding a solution as he has admitted although the movie includes the "light blasts" prominent in other blockbusters, he has also created a realm "totally different" to other action scenes in any other movie.
Feige – who is the mastermind behind ‘Captain America: Civil War’, ‘The Avenger’s’ and ‘Iron Man 3’ – explained: "We’ve seen light blast versus light blast before. Again, there’s some of that in this movie for impact, and for dynamic attacks, but really this is about, and the sort of four main action scenes have been structured around which power from which dimensions are they going to be use to screw with our world now … So something that starts as a footchase becomes totally unrecognisable."
