‘Emmerdale’ actor Kelvin Fletcher is engaged.
The 30-year-old actor – who plays Andy Sugden in the ITV soap opera – proposed to his girlfriend Liz Marsland over the weekend.
After dating for eight years, Kelvin finally got down on one knee during a romantic trip to Wales and his new fiancée couldn’t wait to share the good news with her friends as she posted a selfie from the beach which showcased her fancy engagement ring.
On Monday (01.12.14), Liz posted a photo of the happy couple on Instagram with the caption: "So……after a million years together he finally popped the question (sic)"
While Kelvin might be enjoying his real-life romance, his on-screen character is less lucky in love.
Despite remarrying his long-time lover Katie Addyman, Andy will be left destitute after the actress who plays the blonde beauty, Sammy Winward revealed that she would be leaving ‘Emmerdale’ in the new year.
The 29-year-old actress has reportedly decided to quit the soap – which she has worked on for 13 years – so she can explore other acting opportunities.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "She wants to spread her wings and try theatre work and other telly. ‘Emmerdale’ is virtually everything she has ever known."
