Kelly Clarkson’s ‘challenging’ children

Kelly Clarkson has joked "wine is necessary" when raising four kids.
The 35-year-old singer – who has two children River, three, and Remington, 20 months, with her husband Brandon Blackstock, and also helps to raise his two kids from his previous marriage – has admitted it is "challenging" looking after a big brood and while she loves it, she won’t be having any more.
When asked what it’s like being a mother, she replied: "They are challenging."
She then joked: "Wine is necessary."
Kelly has admitted she and Brandon are "done" having children, but loves it when they "teach" her to be a "better human".
She said: "They’re great, though. They say something and you’re like, ‘Damn.’ They’ll call you out. And they teach me. I know it sounds really silly, but kids teach you to be a better human because they’re watching every moment. Not only me at home, but me sitting here with y’all.
"I hope with our two girls and our two boys, they see their parents as successful, loving and respectful people because that’s what we want for them."
The ‘Beautiful Disaster’ hitmaker is grateful to her kids for keeping her grounded and teaching her to "notice the things that are really important" when she is busy in the hectic entertainment industry.
Speaking to E!, she added: "I think when you’re younger and, especially in this kind of industry where everybody’s always applauding you or even if they’re talking bad or good, they’re still talking about you. It’s so hard to not drink your punch, and I think a lot of people fall prey to that.
"I think that [my children] taught me to just look around me and notice the things that are really important, even if it’s just hanging with them, playing on their little piano or taking the time.
"Because I think in life, as adults, it’s very hard for us to be still. It’s very hard for us to enjoy the moment."
Kelly was also sipping wine at the Golden Globes on Sunday (07.01.18) but admitted she was craving a cup of tea during the ceremony.
She said: "I didn’t know if they’d serve tea, and I really wanted tea. But they didn’t serve tea, so I drank wine."
