Kellie Maloney has haunted pub

Kellie Maloney thinks her pub is haunted.
The 64-year-old former boxing legend is planning to re-open her 250-year-old boozer the Unicorn in Marden, Kent, next month but has been forced to call in her exorcist friend Becs prior to the relaunch because she’s convinced a ghost – believed to be a former landlord from the 1800s – is roaming around the premises.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, Kellie – who was known as Frank before she transitioned into a woman in 2014 – said: "Becs sensed there is a friendly spirit who passes through. He comes through the coffee shop after closing time and disappears up the chimney."
As well as her supernatural concerns, Kellie recently admitted that she’s been struggling to find love since she underwent gender reassignment surgery three years ago.
She said: "Dating is a sad topic for me. I’m having problems with love. I want to date, of course, but it’s hard. I’ve been on a few good dinner dates with men but when they realise who I am, they make up an excuse and leave or never contact me again.
"I think they’re scared of being judged or it’ my history in boxing – I don’t know."
Kellie would like to date a younger man because they’re less likely to know about his past, but thinks it would embarrass her daughters, Emma, 39, Sophie, 21, and 15-year-old Libby.
She explained: "The problem is that men my age freak out when they find out who I am and it scares them off. I’ve thought about younger men – I was asked out by a 28 year old the other day – but I have to be respectful to my daughters. I don’t want them to feel embarrassed."
