Katie Piper rejected I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Katie Piper rejected a lucrative offer to star on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ over fears for her health.
The 36-year-old star has revealed she received a big-money offer from ITV bosses to appear on the show, but she ultimately rejected the opportunity as she’s still recovering from an acid attack in 2008.
Katie – who has had more than 250 operations over the last 12 years – said: "An offer for the jungle came into my agency. But I’ve got too many medical problems to do it, so I couldn’t sign up.
"If I was in a camp I’d be the person everyone hates because it would always be, ‘Katie can’t do this trial for medical reasons’. So I don’t think I’d be very popular."
Katie – who starred on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ in 2018 – also admitted the trials don’t look like much fun for the celebrities.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: "It might not have been fun, I think that’s the best way to look at it.
"’Strictly’ was the only reality show I could do. That was such a positive experience for me so I’m glad I could do that one."
Earlier this year, meanwhile, Katie revealed she had to "learn" how to do her make-up again after her acid attack.
The TV star suffered severe scarring and was blinded in one eye after being attacked – but she has always been a huge fan of make-up and has re-learned how to apply it to suit her skin best.
She said: "I’ve always loved make-up. I did a beauty course after leaving school, and I still enjoy face masks, exfoliations, and peels.
"I’ve had to learn to use primers better because of the scarring, and it’s difficult to make up one eye because of being blind in the other."
