Katie McGlyyn films final Coronation Street scenes

Katie McGlynn has filmed her final ‘Coronation Street’ scenes.
The 26-year-old actress has called time on her cobble career yesterday (08.09.19) after joining as Sinead Tinker seven years ago, and now she’s told her Twitter followers she’s looking for a new job.
She wrote: "Officially finished filming today… anybody hiring actresses around here? 7 years experience on the worlds longest running soap? #actressforhire #lastfilmingday #endofanera (sic)"
The soap star also added that her departure "was a mutual decision" to kill off her character – who will lose her battle with cancer after discovering a lump on her neck – while adding she wanted to "pursue other opportunities" away from ‘Corrie’.
She tweeted: "FYI… I wasn’t ‘AXED’ it was my decision to leave to pursue other opportunities… this outcome was the only way Sinead would ever leave her family & @itvcorrie behind.
"It was a mutual decision. #sineadtinker #corrie (sic)"
Sinead’s exit storyline was unveiled last week, and Katie admitted while she is "sad" to be leaving the show, she hopes her final plot will raise awareness of the importance of cervical cancer screenings and other women’s health issues.
She tweeted: "After nearly 7 wonderful years playing Sinead Tinker, my time on the cobbles is coming to an end. I feel so privileged & honoured to have been a part of
@itvcorrie.
"I’ve honestly enjoyed every single second working alongside a BRILLIANT cast & crew who go above and beyond to make Corrie the amazing show that it is.
"I’m sad to be leaving Sinead behind, but I felt the time was right for me to spread my wings & pursue other opportunities.
"As a team we felt Sinead’s ending on the show should highlight the importance of cervical cancer screenings and that women NEED to go for their smear tests. Also, to highlight the issues women face when affected by cancer in or around pregnancy
"Everyone has been working so hard on this storyline and I just hope I do Sinead, the show and the thousands of women out their who have been in Sinead’s position, justice…(sic)"
