Katie McGlynn ‘misses’ Coronation Street canteen

Katie McGlynn "misses" the ‘Coronation Street’ canteen.
The 26-year-old star bowed out of the ITV soap in October after starring as Sinead Osbourne for six years, and as well as missing her co-stars she has been hankering after the salad bar and "really good cake stand".
She said: "They have a really good salad bar and a really good cake stand.
"I’m going to miss the canteen."
Katie admitted there will always be a special place in her heart for her ‘Corrie’ family.
She added to new! magazine: "There are so many people I’ll stay in touch with. It’s like a big family there.
"I don’t think that will ever go away – you create these bonds with people."
But it’s not just Katie who was a big fan of the ‘Corrie’ canteen, as her former co-star Shayne Ward – who played Aidan Connor – previously blamed the Manchester-based soap canteen’s Fish and Chips Friday deal for piling on three stone since he first stepped foot on the cobbles in August 2015.
Speaking in April 2018 just weeks before his character was killed off, he said: "I will miss it when I leave but it’s not done favours for the dad bod. The canteen has a really great menu but then it also has really naughty food.
"Put it this way – it’s your choice, but then if you eat from the naughty menu you’ve got to make sure you don’t put weight on, which is what happened to me really.
"Fish and chips Friday is on every single week and they have lots of sweet food like hot chocolate fudge brownie or rhubarb and apple crumble."
And Kym Marsh – who portrayed Michelle Connor – later joked Shayne made the "wrong choices" in the canteen.
She said: "Lovely Shayne Ward blamed the ‘Corrie’ canteen for his weight gain and ‘dad bod’.
"I regularly eat there. There is a stodgy option, but there’s also a healthy option, a big salad bar and soups, too.
"So I believe Shayne has just made the wrong choices!"
