Katherine Ryan to host new talent show

Katherine Ryan is set to host a new talent show called ‘All That Glitters’.

The 37-year-old comedian will be joined by judges Solange Azagury-Partridge and Shaun Leane as they watch a group of eight jewellers go head-to-head to create beautiful accessories across a series of challenges in a bid to stay in the competition and be named Jeweller of the Week.

She said: "I am so delighted to be a part of the beautiful show that is ‘All That Glitters’.

"I’ve always loved wearing jewellery and it’s fascinating to learn about the intricate process of making these pieces.

"I’m in awe of the skill and artistry of our eight jewellers, who manage to transform the client’s emotion into objects of beauty that last forever."

The six-part series will see the contestants compete in two challenges each week, including ‘The Best Seller’ where they must create pieces that appeals to a mass market, and ‘The Bespoke’ where they have to cater to a client brief for a special occasion.

The new commission comes after the ‘Your Face or Mine?’ star announced she will front her own Netflix sitcom called ‘The Duchess’.

Katherine previously revealed she will write, produce, and star in her first scripted series for the online streaming service which will air in six 30-minute episodes.

The new comedy – which is set to launch next month – will follow a "fashionably disruptive" single mother living in London with her young daughter Olive and her decision of whether to have another child with Olive’s dad, with whom she has a very disruptive relationship.

She said of the show: "I’m such a fan of ‘Fleabag’ and ‘Gameface’, my friend Aisling [Bea] has ‘This Way Up’ coming out, and I love watching British comedies, and I just hope that I can meet that very high bar."
