Katherine Jenkins ‘plans to attract a whole new fanbase’

Katherine Jenkins has joined a new management company in a bid to win over a whole new fanbase.
The 36-year-old singer is already a big star in the UK and has now signed with management company Modest, who guided the careers of One Direction and Little Mix, in an effort to broaden her global appeal.
A source said: "Katherine really wants to make big strides in music globally."
The blonde beauty has cut her ties with industry giant Jonathan Shalit after two years of working with him, and Katherine feels she is now ready for the next stage in her music career.
The insider explained to The Sun newspaper: "She’s had a great time with Jonathan and appreciates all he’s done for her.
"But she now feels it’s time to give Modest the chance to see if they can help her achieve her ambitions."
Meanwhile, Katherine revealed last year she "has a word" with her late father Selwyn John before every performance.
The singer’s beloved dad passed away when she was just 17 years old, but Katherine hopes he is still watching over her and she still asks him to "bless" her voice when she is ready to go on stage.
She said: "The last thing I do when I’m getting ready and standing in the wings is say a prayer.
"Then I’ll have a little word with my father. My dad passed away when I was 17, so I’ll often say, ‘Dad, bless my voice, bless my performance’.
"I’ve always felt he’s been with me, guiding me in my career. He was my biggest supporter. He’s the last thing I think of when I go out and sing."
