Katherine Jenkins will spend her first Christmas as a married woman at her mother’s house.
The 34-year-old singer and her spouse, American filmmaker-and-artist Andrew Levitas – who she tied the knot with in September after less than a year of dating – are going to her family home in Neath, South Wales, for the festive holiday and she admits she couldn’t imagine celebrating the day anywhere else, even if her husband is from New York.
She said: "Christmas isn’t Christmas unless I’m home. Mum cooks and we do all the chopping and clearing up. It’ll be a very special one this year."
Katherine’s Welsh roots are very important to her and inspired her latest album ‘Home Sweet Home’.
She explained: "This is all about coming home on a lot of levels. Before I started this album, I went back to my very first album.
"I listened to it, looked at the picture of myself on the cover, and thought about the girl I was, the music that inspired me, that got me to where I was and I felt like it was time to return to my roots.
"There are songs on the album I’m so proud of."
