The ‘Good Morning Britain’ presenter has to drive to her in-laws every year before Christmas because she celebrates the festive season with her husband Derek Draper in Lancashire but, in order to make the long journey more bearable, she dresses up and strings flashing lights across the doors so that the traffic "still feels like Christmas."
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the launch of ‘Disney on Ice’, held at London’s The O2 arena, on Wednesday (21.12.17), she said: "On Christmas Eve we go to my in-laws in Lancashire and it’s quite a long drive up the motorway so we all dress up and decorate the car with lights and it’s quite a sight on the M6 if you go past. And it’s quite good fun and it means if we get stuck in tragic you still feel like it’s Christmas."
And, although she’s got a relatively manic Christmas, her New Year’s Eve will be quiet.
She explained: "I have a New Year’s Eve plan to do nothing because we’ve got quite a manic Christmas so we promised we’re not going out this year but we say that every year and we always end up with loads of wafts and strays at our house but I think it’s just going to be just us.
"New Year’s resolutions – this year I’ve decided is going to be the year of challenge. I don’t want to be specific yet because I don’t want to scare myself about the challenges that might lay ahead but I think I want to face a few fears and do a few challenges."
