Kate Bosworth says Julianne Moore and Cate Blanchett are inspirations to her.
The 32-year-old star idolises her two older peers and insists she learnt so much from Julianne, 54, when they both filmed ‘Still Alice’ together.
One of the big lessons Kate learnt from Julianne – who won the Best Actress in a Drama Golden Globe for her performance as early onset Alzheimer’s disease sufferer Dr. Alice Howland – is that you have to keep diversifying your roles.
She said: "I have people like Julie, I look up to Cate Blanchett a lot. All you can keep doing is doing the work. Keep putting one foot in front of the other, and you have a long career."
Kate refuses to be drawn into the argument about the roles available to older actresses – recently ignited by Russell Crowe’s comments his female peers should accept age appropriate parts – and insists it’s tough to find work at any age.
Speaking to the New York Post newspaper at the Cinema Society screening of ‘Still Alice’ in NYC, she explained: "Listen, it is difficult to be a professional artist; it doesn’t really matter what age. It’s challenging to make a living off of being creative. It’s challenging to make a living off of being creative."
