Karren Brady refuses to starve herself

Karren Brady refuses to starve herself just so she’ll look thinner on TV.

The ‘Apprentice’ star has revealed she receives messages from Twitter trolls calling her a "fat cow" whenever she says something people don’t agree with on the BBC show but insists she has no plans to lose any weight.

She said: "It annoys me when the likes of myself, Fern Britton and Nigella Lawson are ridiculed over our appearance or if we’ve put on weight.

"If someone doesn’t like what I’ve said on ‘The Apprentice’ they’ll write on social media, ‘Karren Brady, that fat cow’. But I’m not going to starve myself because other people on TV are thinner than me."

The 46-year-old businesswoman also opened up about being diagnosed with a brain aneurysm in 2006 to reveal it made her reassess her priorities.

She explained to Closer magazine: "I woke up one day with blotches all over my skin and my body was swelling. I was rushed to A&E and told I had an aneurysm and that I needed brain surgery. I feel so lucky that I survived – it could have led to a stroke.

"What happened to me has made me realise that life is short and I want to live as long as possible. As a result I am now a supporter of The Stroke Association, I take more time off and I’m less stressed."
