Kanye West cancels secret gig after riot breaks out

Kanye West was forced to cancel his secret gig in New York City on Sunday night (05.06.16) after a "riot" broke out.
The ‘Bound 2’ hitmaker was set to perform an intimate show at Webster Hall in Manhattan but was left with no choice but to axe the performance after hundreds of desperate fans descended on the venue, climbed on top of cars and scrambled over one another to get a glimpse of the rapper.
The situation got so out of control that the 38-year-old rapper was heard on his wife Kim Kardashian West’s Snapchat calling for Mayor Bill de Blasio to "shut down the block" after a number of fans were pepper sprayed.
Kanye was set to perform at the venue after his headline slot at the Governors Ball, held in the Big Apple, but he was left disappointed after it was called off due to bad weather.
However, although he didn’t get to wow fans at the music event, he did perform at Hot 97’s Summer Jam instead.
Meanwhile, Kanye hasn’t had the best of luck this weekend as he was also part of a long list of stars – including Jessica Simpson and Mariah Carey – who were forced to evacuate their expensive homes in Calabasas, California, after a bushfire ripped through 300 acres of the lavish gated area.
It’s thought the horrific blaze was sparked during a heatwave after a vehicle hit a utility pole that downed power lines.
It’s thought no one was injured during the fire and the stars were allowed to return to their homes a little while later after the inferno had been extinguished by firefighters.
