Justin Timberlake: Pharrell collaboration is in its infancy

Justin Timberlake and Pharrell Williams are in the early stages of their mystery musical collaboration.
The 35-year-old singer and ‘Happy’ hitmaker have been keeping tight-lipped about the new music they are working on together as they don’t want to discuss it in case it turns out to be completely "different" by the time it’s released, which could be some time as Justin hinted it might have a "longer length" deadline.
Speaking on an episode of Pharrell’s Apple Beats 1 Radio show, ‘OTHERtone’, Justin said: "It’s so in its infancy at the moment. I couldn’t say. Plus I don’t want to talk about it right now.
"Just because there may be a longer length of time that this stuff that we are working on right now, when it comes out it may turn into something completely different."
News the pair were joining forces again emerged when the R&B singer shared a photo of them in the studio last month alongside the caption "currently".
The ‘Mirrors’ hitmaker last teamed up with the 42-year-old star on their 2014 single ‘Brand New’.
The former *NSYNC star – who is married to Jessica Biel with whom he has 11-month-old son Silas – said it was a studio session with Pharrell and producer Chad Hugo that made him want to release a solo album.
He explained: "I remember feeling like, I was like, ‘I have to do my own record and I have to go solo’.
"And I knew that when I walked in and I heard that, it was a confirmation that these two guys were the answer to everything that I wanted to do."
